As part of the Government of India’s initiative towards creating a drug-free society, KLE Society’s Degree College, Gokak organized a “Nashamukta Bharat Abhiyan” pledge-taking programme for all B.Com students on 13-08-2025.
The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the ill-effects of drug abuse and to encourage them to take an active role in building a healthy, addiction-free community. The event was coordinated under the guidance of Principal Shri.Amrut Jakkali and faculty members of the Commerce Department.
All B.Com students gathered at the college class room, where Faculty addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of staying away from intoxicants and leading a disciplined, responsible life. Following the address, students stood together and took the official “Nashamukta Bharat Abhiyan” pledge, vowing to abstain from drug use, to spread awareness, and to support rehabilitation efforts for those affected.
The pledge-taking not only strengthened students’ resolve to lead a healthy lifestyle but also highlighted their responsibility as youth ambassadors for a better and drug-free India. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the college management, faculty, and students for their enthusiastic participation.
