REPORT ON MINI AUDIT ACTIVITY

Introduction

A Mini Audit Activity was conducted for B.Com Final Year students on 12th November 2025 as part of their practical learning curriculum. The activity was designed to provide hands-on experience in applying auditing concepts to real-life small business units and to enhance students’ analytical and professional skills.

Objectives of the Mini Audit Activity

  • To apply theoretical knowledge of auditing in practical situations
  • To understand basic audit procedures and documentation
  • To develop skills in audit report preparation
  • To encourage teamwork and collaborative learning
  • To improve presentation and communication skills

Group Formation

A total of 50 B.Com Final Year students participated in the mini audit activity. The students were divided into 5 individual groups, each consisting of 10 students.

Allocation of Business Units

Each group was assigned a small business unit for audit purposes as follows:

Group 1 Canteen

Group 2 Flower Shop

Group 3 Sweet Crust Bakery

Group 4 Campus Book Stall

Group 5 Mobile Accessories Shop

Scope of Audit Work

The audit work carried out by the students included:

  • Understanding the nature of the business
  • Verification of cash receipts and payments
  • Examination of purchase and sales records
  • Checking of bills, vouchers, and invoices
  • Stock verification where applicable
  • Review of basic accounting practices

Preparation of Audit Report

Each group prepared a Mini Audit Report based on their observations and findings. The reports included:

  • Introduction and objectives
  • Scope and limitations of audit
  • Audit findings and observations
  • Suggestions and recommendations
  • Conclusion

PPT Presentation

After completing the audit work, all groups presented their audit reports through PowerPoint presentations (PPT) on 12th November 2024. Students explained their audit process, findings, and learning outcomes. The presentations were evaluated by faculty members, followed by interactive discussions.

Conclusion
